My wife, Karen and I were born and raised in the Northwest and have always enjoyed our time spent in Leavenworth. Whether it be camping at Nason Creek (including a trip into town for pizza) with our four children, staying in a romantic bed and breakfast (before we had four children), or spending a week as a family in a timeshare overlooking Enchantment Park with its easy walk alongside the river into town, we are often lured back to explore more of this area.

We love the selection of lodging available in Leavenworth. The unique architecture of the hotels with exposed beams and high ceilings provide a warm and relaxed atmosphere for your Leavenworth vacation. The cozy fireplaces provide a relaxing area to slow down with an engaging book. Many rooms have been themed to provide a real sense of being in the Old World.
If you are looking for more basic lodging, even the motels in Leavenworth provide Bavarian charm. One motel in downtown provides literary themed rooms to go along with the bookstore and coffee shop downstairs.
A discussion of lodging choices would not be complete without mentioning the gorgeous Leavenworth bed and breakfasts. From rustic log décor or one filled with antiques, to more modern interior design, one is sure to find just the quiet and relaxed romantic getaway that one is looking for.
Endless Choices of Activities
It is easy to pack a week long Leavenworth vacation with different activities each day. During the winter, snow provides many opportunities. Downhill skiing is an easy drive from town while cross country skiing and tubing hills are available right in town. A winter trip to Leavenworth should include a sleigh ride along with the Tree Lighting Festival on December weekends or the Ice Festival in January.
The beautiful summer weather in Leavenworth opens the door to white water rafting, rock climbing, horseback riding, golf, and much, much more. Or, for those who prefer a more slow paced vacation, reading a good book while sitting in the sun on a deck overlooking the Wenatchee River is always a relaxing way to pass the time.
Year round, downtown Leavenworth offers many shops and restaurants to discover. Not to be missed are the Hat Shop, quaint Bavarian bakeries, and the Christmas Shop (because who can't pass up Christmas in July?). While checking out the shops, don't overlook the Nutcracker Museum. It is a surprisingly informative part of Bavaria in the Northwest.
